As part of the 7th International Conference on Social Work and Urban Development: “Urban spaces in digital change. Between the smart city of tomorrow and resistant practices", Jeannie Schneider and Gesa Feldhusen will give a guided performance of the audio walk developed at the Dezentrum.

In Basel, the aim is to look at the internet as a digital infrastructure and how the supposedly invisible digitalization can be made visible in specific locations such as Claraplatz. For example, the question of digital participation and the public sphere: we know that public space is structured. Spatial development determines which squares we barbecue in and which we cross quickly. Similarly, design decisions such as user interfaces determine how we move through digital space. Nudging, dark patterns, or personalized content guide our behavior in the digital space like traffic lights and street signs. This raises the question of where the digital begins and where it ends.
