Constant reflection, constant debate, constant performance: for nine days, from 22 to 30 August, Theater Basel will be taking the pulse of democracy together with young people from Basel.
On Saturday 29 August, together with Cerca and the Gemeingut Boden association, we are organising a day dedicated to the themes of land, property and society.
Rents are rising, and more and more money is flowing into property and land. Who will be able to afford to call this place home in the future? This day of immersive workshops explores pressing tensions between land, property and society: who owns what, why, and what does this have to do with our democracy? We’ll explore these issues through improvisation, create space for lively discussion and let ideas flow. What scenarios emerge when we discuss together: What is fair? What is possible? What do we want?
Three workshops, independent and modular
10.00 am – Shaped Ownership
1.00 pm – Improvisational Theatre: Ownership Relationships
3.00 pm – Imagining Futures Together
