Artificial intelligence in education

A workshop for teachers and decision-makers with the aim of highlighting the opportunities, but also the dangers, challenges and limitations of generative artificial intelligence. With expert presentations, guided experimentation and reflection in groups, as well as a plenary discussion, the workshop offers an insightful and varied experience for your team.

Thank you for the exciting journey with our leadership team into the world of AI. It has delighted and challenged us and will resonate for some time to come.

The Format

In many areas of life, the change brought about by artificial intelligence (AI) is unmistakable, and education is no exception. In an interactive format, we promote practice, dialogue and reflection through lectures, workshop modules and discussion rounds, thus enabling a critical engagement with artificial intelligence. In particular, we address the following questions:

  • What is generative AI?
  • How do tools like ChatGPT work?
  • What can generative AI do and what can't it do?
  • How can generative AI be used in education?

More than just information

Our workshop aims to provide participants with a solid basic understanding of AI and the most common AI tools and to enable them to recognise opportunities, dangers and limits of the technology beyond the AI hype.

With "AI in education - an interactive, critical exploration", we offer more than just information transfer - a lively exchange that aims to empower participants to actively engage in the discourse around AI and thus help shape the educational landscape of tomorrow.

Bytes & Bridges: How is Digitalisation Changing a City?

Digital technologies have long been integrated into our everyday lives, promising efficiency and seamless processes. We often notice them only when disruptions occur, yet they continuously influence how we live together and shape our political system. The audio walk through Basel, developed and produced by Dezentrum, explores this impact across seven stations, making the pervasive presence of digitalisation in daily life visible.
