One of the biggest musical collaborations in 2023 was undoubtedly Drake featuring The Weeknd with the song “Heart On My Sleeve”. Within two weeks, the track had racked up 15 million views on TikTok and over 600,000 streams on Spotify – all without the cooperation, knowledge or consent of the two artists. Because the track was completely AI generated. The topic of generative, artificial intelligence has also been omnipresent in the world of music for some time now. Some artists express hopes for a democratisation of the music industry and envision new forms of musical expression. Others discuss fears regarding copyright, uniqueness and fear for the future of their work. But what does this change mean beyond the hype? How does generative, artificial intelligence work, why is the topic relevant for the music industry, and what risks and opportunities does this new technology bring?

A keynote talk will lay the foundation for these questions. Experts will then discuss further legal, ethical and artistic considerations in more detail before opening up the floor to questions from the audience.

Free entrance. This conference is conducted in German, with simultaneous translation into French.
